Cannibal
Lover
When
you are in the shower
I creep through your window
Bury my face in your still-warm shirt
Inhale your heat, your smell,
Until I pass out on the floor,
Afraid to lose you.
And what would you say?
Dry and pruney
Standing barefoot
Coming to, I eye your toes.
Saturday
The
thank-you card:
He
shone with unexpected pleasure
I thought of it twice going home
Twice I smiled.
Worry
We
worried, huddled on the step.
You said, "things will be ok with us."
Then I knew that it will be
Two
slices of burnt toast, never one;
A red geranium on the sill,
Simple city sun.
The
Homeless Guy
I
gave him all I had-
50p and a banana.
He held it in his hand,
A sun crescent on a cold day.

Biography
My
name is Aileen Cahill, and I live in the south of County Sligo.
I am 18 years old and currently studying for my leaving cert.
I have been writing poetry and prose for many years now, but
have only been submitting material to writing groups on-line.
I love reading, especially poetry, and would say that my main
influences would be William Carlos Williams and Sylvia Plath.
I also love music, and play primarily the piano and flute.
I'm really hoping to continue studying both next year in a
Performance degree.
