Pelican On Promontory Point
So
I join you, old friend,
Me, the most aloof of men,
To look down upon sand and sea
And contemplate eternity.
Do
you know we are natural kin,
And that I also hover in the wind?
We share a feathered crisscross,
I am my own albatross.
