The
Tigress Explains
Sleeping
Conserving strength to be
This feral creature
They all fear me to be,
Creeping,
Up to the river,
Slip my tongue inside
And they scatter like parrots
Chattering brightly in the air above,
About mortgages and more
Hilarious happenings,
Guess you had to be there,
And I wasn't.
I am the tiger
Who pounces when hungry
From shadows where it is preferred I remain,
Devours the tenuous peace
Of family
I cannot be a bird
No wings to fly,
And if I leap
Like tigers must
I only confront us all with the obvious nature
Of our differences
So let me sleep,
Don't poke me into wakefulness,
Then exclaim at my teeth.

Biography
I'm
25, originally from Detroit, but living in Ireland on and
off since I was seven. I've never published anything nor really
entertained the thought until the last year when I started
a novel, which I am currently in the process of avoiding.
